When the World Gets Loud, the Mountains Whisper

As the holiday season comes into focus, it usually means a shift in focus for most people. For some its family gatherings, peaceful nights spent at home enjoying your favorite holiday dishes and movies. For others it's a time of drama, instability and all around chaos. Whatever the case may be I enjoy spending time outside to remain centered and grounded. 

As I sit writing this it comes to mind all the things that the mountains I call home endure. Changing seasons, storms, fires, and time. They remain standing, not in stark defiance but rather in quiet wisdom and seasoned patience. The world, and our society, play on in a chorus of sounds that are often out of key and very rarely in harmony with one another. The mountains refrain in a steady drum beat, the same now as it was at their conception. 

Regardless of what your holiday season may sound like, be sure to spend some time outside, the mountains are calling and always listening.
